!!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! about my ignition problems. This morning after reconnecting the battery it just cranks forever, won’t start.

Hopefully I haven’t managed to somehow fry my brand new fuel pump. Reconnecting the battery with the ignition on (sparks!) despite no key wasn’t comforting.

Plausible but no slope. It’s towed and will now sit untouched  at the dealership for a few days, probably.

What kind of and year Nissan? I can look up the owner’s manual. But appears to be either safety shield or cruise related.

Forward emergency braking. If the light is on, system is turned off for some reason. Either it was manually turned off in the cluster menus, or there is an issue with the system like a dirty front laser sensor. If there are no warning messages in the driver information display in the cluster , most likely the system was manually turned off.

I wonder whether Hertz wants to turn off active driving aids that might confuse/scare unwary drivers.

Are both lights related to that?

Yup. Most likely someone playing around in the menus trying to reset service reminders. Happens a lot.

Turns out there’s a cap over the sensor. Must be a Hertz policy to disable those.
